Jesus answered, “I am the way and truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” —John 14:6

Isn’t it amazing how sunflowers follow the sun? This phenomenon is a result of the sunflower being a phototropic plant. Meaning the sunflower follows the movement of the sun from east in the morning to we...

  • The Example of a Nursing Mother

  • The Example of a Nursing Mother

    Written by Sandra Sheridan

“But we proved to be gentle among you, as a nursing mother tenderly cares for her own children.” - 1 Thessalonians 2:7

There are not many experiences that are sweeter than cradling a tiny baby in your arms and nursing her. This was one of my precious joys of motherhood, and a memory I will always keep. The bond that forms between mother a...

  • Looking Past the Now

  • Looking Past the Now -

This devotional was written by Kelly McFadden

Here is my servant whom I have chosen, the one I love, in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him, and he will proclaim justice to the nations. He will not quarrel or cry out; no one will hear his voice in the streets. A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out, till he leads justice...

  • GOD HAS CHOSEN ME

  • GOD HAS CHOSEN ME -

    BY MRS. CHARLES COWMAN

    In Streams in the Desert

"I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction" (Isa. 48:10).

Does not the Word come like a soft shower, assuaging the fury of the flame? Yes, is it not an asbestos armor, against which the heat has no power? Let the affliction come--God has chosen me. Poverty, thou mayest stride in at my door; but God is in the house alrea...

  • Looking at Where You've Been

  • Looking at Where You've Been -

This devotional was written by Kelly McFadden

Then I said to you, “Do not be terrified; do not be afraid of them. The Lord your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes, and in the desert. There you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until y...

  • I Will Not Forget You!

  • Do you remember when you made the discovery that ink pens wrote smoothly on your skin? I muse at the hours of silly “Bic pen tattoos” I scribbled on my body as a kid. Gracie is quite the little artist and she recently made the discovery. The first thing I saw her draw on herself astonished me. I opened the palms of her hands and saw crosses and hearts on one hand and “I LOVE GOD!” inscribe...

  • Let Freedom Ring -

This devotional was written by Kelly McFadden

God alone made it possible for you to be in Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made Christ to be wisdom itself. He is the one who made us acceptable to God. He made us pure and holy, and he gave himself to purchase our freedom. 1 Corinthians 1:30

  • FLUTTERING SPIRIT

    BY MRS. CHARLES COWMAN

    In Streams in the Desert

"And there was a voice from the firmament that was over their heads, when they stood, and had let down their wings" (Ezek. 1:25).

That is the letting down of the wings? People so often say, "How do you get the voice of the Lord?" Here is the secret. They heard the voice when they stood and let down their wings.

We have seen a bird with flu...

  • Perfectionism is Overrated!

  • Perfectionism is Overrated!

Micah 6:8 He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, to love kindness and to walk humbly with your God?

Hi, my name is Sandy, and I’m a closet perfectionist. And I know that perfectionism is overrated!

No one would know my secret if they looked at my house, my hair, or my clothes, but somewhere down deep there is a de...
